Fix Our Eyes

This Sunday we get to hear our Vicar, Scott Hedke, give his first sermon at Promise.  Scott will be talking about the importance and challenges of fixing our eyes on Jesus.  We will work through what steps that we can take when we lose focus and how to start training our focus today.

Staves to Serpents

Evil, or Satan, is a real presence in the Bible and our world today.  In Exodus 7, we see when Moses confronts Pharaoh that evil is working to oppose God’s plan.  We can also see evil working in our world today in the same fashion. Don’t be surprised when God’s work is opposed, but also do not forget that He is more powerful.  Join us as we learn about His power against evil.

Thy Will Be Done

In Exodus 7:3 we read that God says “I will harden Pharaoh’s heart”.  Does this mean that Pharaoh does not have free will when choosing to let the Hebrews go?  What does this mean for us when God chooses to use us for His will?

Memorial Day

This Sunday we look at blinders that have developed from past experiences.  We dig into Moses’ first confrontation with Pharaoh. Moses has grown from the person he once was into a servant of God. However, Moses is still dealing with blinders and insecurities from his past that prevent him from fully growing into what God has planned for him. In this lesson we ask “What blinds you to what God is doing in, with, and through you?”.

Bricks Without Straw

In this podcast Pastor Graf preaches on the story of the Israelites having to make bricks without straw.  Back in Moses’ time it seemed impossible to make bricks without straw. Pharaoh knew this and used it to oppress the Israelites. Sometimes oppression happens consciously but sometimes it happens without the oppressor being aware. As Christians, how do we deal with conscious and unconscious oppression?

Belief Ain’t Trust

There’s nothing religious about the difference between belief and trust. This can get us into trouble because God doesn’t call simply to cognitive assent; but trust lived into action.
Join us as guest speaker, Mychal Thom, leads us in a discussion on this topic referencing the verses Exodus 4:1-17 and John 20:24-29.

Prayer

Join us this Sunday as we listen to guest speaker, Keith Thompson, talk about his prayer journey.  Keith will walk you through his own personal journey to the Holy land, the discoveries he made through the people and the land there, and how he developed a more personal and productive prayer life through these discoveries.  If you are someone who would like to deepen and grow in your prayer life or have ever admitted “I don’t know what I am doing” when it comes to prayer, you will enjoy and benefit from Keith’s story.
